mBLAST Simplifies Event Marketing with EventSync Events Listing Service
EventSync Allows Event Organizers to Enter Information Once and Watch It Populate Listing Sites Throughout the Web
mBLAST, the leader in Media and Marketing Relationship Management, has launched a new service designed to help event organizers of all types publicize and manage their event listings across the Web.
EventSync -- www.eventsync.com -- allows users to simplify their event publicity processes significantly. Event organizers can enter their event details including venue, date, description, URL and more -- once within EventSync, and the listing flows though to major event listing sites such as Google Calendar, Yahoo!, Upcoming and Eventful, as well as to the websites of publishers, associations and analyst firms with matching topic sets using a set of open APIs (application programming interfaces).
Since event information often changes once it is published, a powerful feature of EventSync is the ability for users to modify or update their event details and have that updated information flow through directly to the listing sites. If an event logo is changed, or an event cancelled, users can update that information once within EventSync and the changes are pushed out across the web.
Sites that provide event calendars for their audience -- search engines, listing engines, and publication websites, for example -- are also finding huge value in EventSync. Event calendars can be difficult to manage, and every time a change occurs, a staff member's valuable time is spent chasing the details. EventSync provides a means to obtain accurate, filtered, pertinent, and constantly updated event information directly from event organizers, without wasting staff time. Readers and viewers benefit from more detailed and more current event information in their areas of industry focus.
"EventSync is going to have a marked impact on the way event organizers approach their marketing efforts," said mBLAST CEO Danny Briere. "A huge amount of time is spent by event organizers sending the same information over and over again to dozens of listing sites. If that information changes, it means contacting those same groups over again with the new details. We've seen cases where one trade show organizer changed logos six weeks before a show and spent a significant amount of a staff member's time chasing down contacts and replacing information on more than 50 event listing sites. That's a huge and unnecessary drain on event staff's valuable time.
"Publications, Associations and Analyst Firms that maintain event calendars share the same pain, they receive hundreds of listing, logos, banners, requests, etc. EventSync helps them manage that through an online portal that delivers event data to their website through simple APIs. EventSync is a win-win for event organizers and event listing sites."
How does EventSync Work?
EventSync is a wire service for event metadata. Event content is entered through the EventSync portal or, for event organizers with large amounts of data, via automated APIs. Event engines are then populated with this content. Updates are conducted in the same fashion and flow to the industry event engines within 24 hours.
